Online, flexible, specialist CPD training that doesn't take forever to do!
The short courses in The Speech and Language Garden are perfect for anyone working with children and young people in an education setting, whether that’s a primary or secondary school, nursery or preschool, or an alternative education setting.
Providing you with specialist training in identifying and supporting children with speech, language and communication needs, you will gain:

Access to the courses for 12 months
The pre-recorded courses range from 1 to 4 hours (see below for timings), with modules covering specific theoretical information, and demonstrated activities to target specific areas of needs during intervention sessions.
All of the course content is available online, straight away, there's no 'start date' and no need to find cover or fund extra travel costs.
All of the courses and resources are created by a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with extensive experience of working with children for more than a decade.
How long are the courses?
I know your time is precious and that you don’t want to be stuck in front of a screen all day doing boring learning so I’ve condensed lots of information, strategies and activity demonstrations into each of my courses which you can complete in an afternoon.
- Early Years Speech & Language: 4 hours
- Speech Sounds Steps to Success: 2-2.5 hours (allow a little time for reflection and planning your sessions)
- Supporting Children with Memory & Processing difficulties:1.5 hours
- Supporting Children with Vocabulary & Word Finding difficulties: 2 hours
- SLCN Speech, Language & Communication Needs: 1.5 hours
- Supporting children who Stammer or Stutter: 1 hour
Is there a written element?
No. I won’t make you do extra homework! Although I do encourage you to email me to tell me about your successes with the activities! I love getting emails where children have made so much progress with their skills and the grown ups have had a lot of fun!
Do we get a certificate?
Yep! You will be automatically issued a certificate upon completion of each course which you can add to your CV and show off your skills to parents, colleagues, Governors, Inspectors or in any future job interviews.
